Before and After Photos
A great number of plastic surgeons have chosen to display before and after photographs of their patients online, usually serving as promotional tools for the doctor's website. At Azalea Coast Plastic Surgery, we’ve decided it is important to get patients' explicit written consent before doing so. We are currently in the process of collecting proper patient consent so we can offer before and after photos for plastic surgery education and awareness online. In the meantime, we do allow patients to view surgical results in photos during their personal consultation with Dr. Ljung. Our before and after photo collection represents a wide variety of procedures all performed by Dr. Ljung.
We understand a prospective patient’s desire to see documented surgical results, but we take the following considerations seriously:
- Privacy: We respect the privacy of our patients and realize that the choice to have cosmetic surgery is not always a fact they would like to disclose to others.
- Maturity: Body contouring and breast enhancement photos often contain material that is not suitable for younger viewers of a website. We are currently developing an online system which both respects our patients and our website audience.
- Necessity: Only those who are actually considering cosmetic surgery should view pre and postoperative photographs. These photos often represent a very personal transformation for the patient and should not be viewed for pleasure or any other superfluous reason.

Photographs are an excellent way to help a patient understand the results that can be achieved with plastic and reconstructive surgery.
